Born and raised in North-east India, Assam, I graduated in 1985 with a degree in Civil Engineering. I started my Engineering career in Design Consultancy of Highways & Bridges in Guwahati, Assam, and then moved to New Delhi and Bangalore on different  projects.  I am currently in Goa, building an 8-Lane Cable Stayed Bridge on Zuari River.

I started teaching myself photography in 1974 with my father's Nikon SLR "Nikkormat" paired with a 50mm, f/1.8 lens.  During my Engineering College days, I learned and practised enlarging and printing black-and-white images. I still focus mainly on black-and-white photography, and recently got a Hasselblad 500C with a 6 cm x 6 cm film back (a model which was produced from 1957-1970).  The 500C gained its true claim to fame after astronaut Walter Schirra took it with him on the Mercury rocket in 1962, becoming the first camera to properly document space.

I got my first DSLR, a Nikon D50, in 2006 and continued photography as a passion.  I currently use Nikon D850, D810 & D500 as my prime cameras.  I love exploring and capturing diverse subjects, revealing their beauty to the world.
